Photographer Leah Verwey takes bewitching photos of creative work spaces around Portland for her beautiful site, Spacepdx. I have had a crush on Spacepdx for quite a while, and the universe must have heard my secret plea, because Leah and her camera came to visit us recently. The lovely and talented Chelsea (of Frolic! blog fame) orchestrated the photo shoot beautifully--who else could find a gorgeous English-style glasshouse within reach of Portland? A Storyville story.

April wore my Storyville Suite, a three piece ensemble. Silk duchess satin minidress with two convertible skirts--a blush-colored tulle ball skirt and a melon green silk organza mini. The perfect solution to the long-or-short-dress dilemma...

Don't call it gray.

You may know that grey (I just really have to spell it that way--so much prettier!) is my favorite color, so I'm happy Shontee let me talk her into this lovely silvery bolero to go over her wedding dress. Embellishments are silk organza flowers, hand dyed bits of lace and embroidery, and vintage pearls and jewels.

Princess and the (Sweet) Pea.

 

New at The English Dept.: the Sweet Pea gown from Ivy & Aster. Softly pleated flocked dot silk chiffon, draped bodice, just enough train to give the dress a regal bearing. Truly stunning.

Our love is big as a barn.

I love these photos Ben Blood shot of Jenny and Kevin's wedding on a historic farm in Southwest Washington. Jenny wore a silk chiffon gown from Jenny Yoo and a Modern Romance headpiece, all from The English Dept.

Yes, his boutonniere is a kite. A kite! I love it. And the tie.

I'm pleased to announce that my 2012 bridal collection, "Heroines," will soon be available at Lovely, a new bridal boutique opening in New York City. Lanie, proud owner, has handpicked a beautiful crew of independent designers for her shop's debut, and I'm honored to be among them (that's my Oysters & Pearls dress on her home page--I'm so proud!).
